Thank you so much for sharing Michael’s story. Having survived the oppression of the reservtion I can relate to Michael. I bought the book, read half of it, went to the movie the day it came out & finished the book by the next day. This story is such an inspiration I can not begin to tell you. I am recommending it to everyone, blogging about it on facebook… I found myself crying throughout the book & the movie… sometimes from the misery he suffered and knowing what it was like to not have the support, love or a simple hug from your mother but MOSTLY out of pure joy and pride for this young man that overcame such horrible odds. I am truly, truly a fan of Michael. not becasue of his athletic abilites (I don’t watch football) but becasue of his strenghth & drive to overcome what should have been a tragedy. I will buy a jersey with his number on it, I will watch every single Baltimore Ravens game, I will try with everything I have to attend one of his games becasue he is my hero!! Thank you again for sharing Michael with us and giving us hope in humanity. God bless the Tuohys.

Susan, I was saddened to read of your life experience and I wish you well in all that you set your hand to. Thank you for your kind words and participation on this site. Like you, I too have been inspired by Michael’s story, his grit, and determination and how the Tuohy’s love helped him through difficult times. God Bless You and Yours!

Thank you so much for sharing Michaels story and what he has acomplished in his lifetime. I was wondering if you had contact with Michael and if he possibly did motivational speaking. If he did I would love to get in contact with him or you. I volunteer every summer for a teen foster camp. All the kids are in the system and we are allways looking for speakers. If Michael would be willing we would love to have him. The camp is usually done the first or second week of August. Thank you for your time and for sharing a amazing story.

I work with troubled teenagers that are ward’s of the state and live in a residential facility. I am planning to share with them his story. I would be very interested to know if Michael Oher would consider speaking to the kids at our facility. We have about 40 residents and it would really be encouraging to them to hear that they have a chance to make it.
Thanks so much!

I want to tell mike he is a hero! I too, came from a situation similiar to his. I was also blessed with a teacher that took me into her home and changed my life. I grew up in and out of juvenile lock ups and nothing phased me. I was numb to the streets and that I didnt care. Mrs. Brown taught me to take pride in myself and also realize that I did have some intelligence. If it wasn’t for her Id probably be in prison right now. Thanks to God and her I changed my life. I want to let everyone know; taking sometime out of your life to help a young lost kid can be the difference! It can change his/her life forever………

I have posted the only known contact information for Michael Oher that I have. A lady contacted me recently and used this info to leave a message for Michael. If I come up with anything more solid regarding a personal address, I will let each of you know. Here is where I posted it:

I just wanted to let Michal Oher know it at all possible, What an inspiration he is to other people, against all odds he surrived!! and to the the Touhy family for being such wonderful people for loving someone they didn’t even know.
I went to see the blind side and I only hope that I truely and the kind of mother she was to a child that needed her help.
It left us speachless in the theater! Remarkable! If only all mankid could think with the same colorless and unconditional love the Touhy’s did!! Would be a truely amazing place we live in!
I often had talked about being a foster mom , just because I had 5 children myself and have always said being a mom is the best thing I did in my life.
Wonderful wonderful story Thank you Michael for sharing your life with us! Maybe it will open peoples eyes!

WOW!! My husband and I went to see the Blind Side for his birthday on December 3, 2009 and i must say we were both very moved as well as inspired by Michael’s story. We have an outreach ministry in Tallahassee, Florida and we work with the youth in our local housing projects one must similar to the one Michael grew up in. We would like to speak with Michael about being our key note speaker for our upcoming youth conference in July of 2010. I feel that Michael has so much to offer the youth of today. If you are able to find more personal contact information for Michael we would be most appreciative if you would share it with us. God Bless you.
